Last Saturday, in the sunny heat of June, I photographed Kate & Johnny’s gorgeous wedding day. This wedding felt like an epic celebration of everyone finally coming back together safely, which was the BEST feeling in the world! I am so thrilled to be sharing some of my favorite photos from the day!

As hard as it is to believe, Kate & Johnny booked me over a year ago! We met at about this time last summer for their engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial on the most perfect morning – very similar to their wedding morning! These two have a very relaxed, confident attitude as a couple. They had the amazing ability to juggle a lot of opinions and ideas while wedding planning while staying incredibly chill about all of it. Kate is super organized, too, which made their wedding day flow really smoothly!

If you’ve never been, let me tell you: Herrington on the Bay is absolutely dreamy. Every time we shoot a wedding here, Evan and I tell ourselves that we have got to come and spend a weekend here on some summer weekend in the future! It truly feels like a little vacation from the real world. A big harbor with beautiful boats, a little beach with a campfire, and a fantastic on-site restaurant all contribute to the beach-y, relaxing, vacation vibes. It’s the perfect place for a summer wedding!

A few of my favorite elements of the day included their breezy ceremony on the Polynesian Lawn, delicious cocktail hour treats, the beautiful wedding cake made by a guest, and portraits of the two of them at golden hour. I could honestly go on and on – this was such a perfect day!
