FOUNDER / CHIEF CREATIVE DIRECTOR
hannah Bjorndal
I founded La Vie En Rose in 2015. Combining my assortment of skills in the filmmaking and fashion photography world, I dove head-first into wedding photography. The business quickly grew to be a team effort, and since then, I have completely fallen in love with managing and growing her talented team.
Dedicated to finding new ways to delight and go above-and-beyond for clients, I have put most of my focus in recent years on developing new methodology, experimenting with new ideas and training team members to be completely aligned in style, form and approach.
I split my time between in Arlington, VA and Naples, FL with my husband, Evan, and our tiny Yorkshire Terrier, Blue. In my free time, I enjoy playing doubles' tennis, sharing a bottle of Pinot Noir with friends and reading anything and everything on my kindle (preferably poolside!).

Cassie tobias
I began my photography journey at the beginning of 2018 as an apprentice and assistant to Hannah Bjorndal. We worked closely together on wedding days for months, and I became completely immersed in Hannah's signature style and methodology. It was the most natural and seamless transition when we officially joined forces later in the year, eventually becoming La Vie En Rose!
But the true capstone experience of my wedding photography education came when I became a bride myself and experienced the other side of the wedding photography relationship. My appreciation for the beauty and sacredness of wedding days deepened, as did my understanding of how to document a day with authenticity and attention to the details that matter most.
When I am not photographing couples, I enjoy hiking and outdoor picnic adventures with my husband Michael and son Obi, weight lifting or the occasional barre class in Alexandria, and scoping out the coziest coffee shops that I can find in the DMV!

For 11 years, I have been working with clients and photographing wedding days. I was passionate about photography from a young age and studied photography in college, graduating with a professional photography degree in 2013. My extensive technical knowledge and experience working with a diverse clientele made me a unique asset to the La Vie En Rose team.
Even more than technical knowledge, I contribute a joyful, disarming nature to the team. I know how to always get "the shot," even under stressful and rushed situations. Dedicated to making my clients feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, I am originally from Georgia and am known for my easy-going nature, southern hospitality and ability to make anyone feel like an old friend.
I live in Frederick, Maryland and enjoys going on adventures with my husband, Josh, and two pups, Georgia and Piper. I also love home decorating and relaxing with a crisp glass of champagne.

From my teenage years, I've had a passion for photography, initially experimenting with disposable cameras and then graduating to owning my first DSLR in high school. I first stepped into the professional photography world in 2014, focusing on family photography.
When I photographed my first wedding, it was immediately clear that this was my true passion. I fell in love with the combination of intimate moments and epic parties, focusing on the opportunity to build a relationship with my clients over time. I joined forces with La Vie En Rose in 2021.
When I'm not photographing weddings, I enjoys quality time with my husband, Jon and two sons, Noah and Milo. I'm an avid runner and have completed several races in Washington, DC, including a 10-miler the day after photographing a wedding! I love being outdoors with my family and am always down to find the best ice cream or donut shop in town.

Photography has always been an escape from the mundane parts of life. It allows me to capture and highlight some of the best moments, not only in my own life but also in the lives of others. There’s something so meaningful about freezing emotions, memories, and experiences that are otherwise fleeting.
My favorite part about photographing weddings is capturing genuine love between a couple -- it's unlike anything else. It’s an honor to witness those intimate moments and document them in a way that tells their unique story.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, Harrison, and our daughter, Madelyn. We enjoy discovering local coffee shops and adventuring around our quaint little town in south-central PA. It’s those simple moments together that bring me the most joy.

Grace Gilbert
I’m a southern girl from Nashville who moved north for an internship with La Vie En Rose shortly after graduating from Ole Miss and quickly discovered I had a passion for photography. I've been on the team ever since!
I originally fell in love with weddings working for a floral designer in college. I loved all the magic of preparation, design, and collaboration among vendors to create beauty and contribute to such a meaningful day. While photography had always captivated me, it was only after college that I picked up a camera and knew I had found my place in the world of weddings.
When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me on the hunt for hidden treasures at thrift stores, browsing Poshmark and Facebook Marketplace for hidden gems, or enjoying long walks with friends - preferably on the beach. I love slow porch mornings with coffee, Trader Joe’s flowers, I have a sweet tooth for all things chocolate!
