This autumn wedding at Great Oak Manor with the prettiest shades of pink was photographed by Hannah Bjorndal on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Chestertown, MD. A day that was supposed to be a complete washout turned into the most beautiful of September afternoons! With sunshine and blue skies, Jess & Maggie’s wedding day was so perfect!
This was my first time shooting a wedding at Great Oak Manor, and I hope it’s not my last! What a beautiful wedding venue! If you know much about me, you know I LOVE beautiful architecture. The historic nature of this building and it’s beautiful rooms blew me away! Also, the manor sits right on the Chesapeake Bay. Such a perfect location for a wedding!
I have been looking forward to Jess & Maggie’s wedding all year! They were were one of the first couples to book a 2018 wedding, and so we’ve been anticipating this date for nearly a year and a half! Their lovely engagement session at Meridian Hill Park last year was one of my very favorites. They have fantastic taste and are a joy to work with!
Throughout the day, there was so much to enjoy. One of my favorite parts of the day was the ceremony. During the ceremony, the officiant shared some of the many reasons that Maggie & Jess love each other. I loved that they did this! While it may seem obvious, or maybe it seems to go without saying, telling your partner the many ways that you love them is a way of reminding them how truly special they are to you. Hearing these words during the ceremony warmed my heart and made me so excited for the adventure of marriage for these two!
Some of my other favorite parts of the day included the beautiful pink color palette, Maggie’s stunning (and giant!) bouquet, the gorgeous ceremony by the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, the pretty head table design (just one of the many ways Cheers Darling Events made this day perfect!), and watching Maggie & Jess dance to Jesse’s Girl toward the end of the reception. It’s honestly hard to choose favorites from this day, because everything was absolutely perfect.
