Wow, what a dreamy June micro wedding in Washington, DC! Ivana and Matthew overcame about one million obstacles to make their incredible wedding day happen, and they did it all with grace and beauty!

I first connected with Ivana and Matthew on my way to my very first wedding post-quarantine. It was April, and I had been fielding changes of plans, changing wedding dates, “micro” wedding requests and a whole lot more for an entire month. Ivana hopped on a phone call with me and we talked about her vision for her June 20 micro wedding. Something I immediately noticed was that she still really wanted to make the day beautiful, fun and every bit as celebratory as the big wedding celebration she had to move to next August (in Big Sur!). We chatted about adding in floral installments and having bright, bold, cheery colors. I loved everything about it instantly!

As we approached the beginning of June, Ivana and Matthew had to deal with rescinded NPS permits, navigating protests in DC and super questionable stormy weather all within a week of their wedding. It was craziness, and I’m so impressed by the way they pulled these beautiful plans together!

The details of the day were all absolutely stunning. Avery of Ash to Oak is incredibly talented and gave so much life and color to the details with her floral design. And, most notably, Ivana herself designed her stunning invitation suite that we just had to photograph, despite the details having changed!
