Sunrise elopements in Washington, D.C. are among my favorite parts of being a photographer! Ana & Joseph eloped, officially, on October 1. Bright and early the next morning, we met at the Lincoln Memorial for a romantic sunrise session!

Can you even believe this beautiful light? The sun was glowing for the entire session, and I was thrilled! This sweet couple chose to follow the traditional white dress with suit & tie, which gave them such a classic and timeless look. Everywhere we went, on-lookers and tourists wished them congratulations!

Joseph & Ana met in Minnesota, where Joseph is from. Ana was traveling abroad to the U.S. and came across Joseph online, and they met in person shortly afterwards! After that, they started dating. When Ana’s travel plans brought her to Washington, D.C., Joseph flew to visit her several times. Finally, he decided to make it officially, and they were engaged! Their story has been a romantic whirlwind, having met just about a year before getting married! I’m so thankful that they let me be a small part of their story!

One thing that is immediately obvious about Ana: she is super organized and super smart! She researched and visited different photo locations in advance, planning out where and how she wanted her session to look. She even took us to a place that I had never been: the Navy-Merchant Memorial! It was so much fun having a couple who mapped out a bunch of interesting places to shoot. They even brought along a friend to be the driver and assist us as we traveled from place to place – shout out & big thanks to Brett!
