This romantic rose and burgundy wedding at Great Marsh Estate in Virginia was photographed by Cassie Tobias on Friday, October 9, 2020. Cassie is a Great Marsh Estate wedding photographer available for weddings, engagements and anniversaries at Great Marsh and beyond.
I’ve found that it has been pretty rare to have a couple that has been able to keep their original 2020 date – but I was over the moon excited for Alex & Chad when they were able to keep their original wedding date and plans! Back in January of this year, I met with Alex & Chad in a coffee shop in Manassas, VA to get to know them better and hear about their wedding plans. At the time, we had no idea how the pandemic would unfold and change the plans of so many engaged couples this year! From the beginning, I could just tell that Alex & Chad were incredibly warm and inviting people and how they really just wanted their wedding day to be an incredible celebration with their family and friends.
Alex & Chad had their wedding at Great Marsh Estate. I was so excited to be back there for the second time in two months – it has truly has become one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding! It’s even more incredible during the fall months with the changing colors of the leaves surrounding the beautiful landscaping and architecture.
From the moment I arrived to Great Marsh on their wedding day, I could just tell it was going to be a spectacular day. Both Alex & Chad are such incredibly sweet people and I could tell they are so adored by their family and friends. There was so much joy in the moments leading up to the ceremony, while Alex & Chad got ready with their wedding parties – you just could not help but smile!
Alex & Chad looked absolutely stunning together on their wedding day.Alex wore a beautiful gown that had intricate lace, off the shoulder sleeves, and a long veil that also had lace detailing. The bridal bouquets and floral arrangements made by Everlasting Flowers had accents of light pink, white and red that paired perfectly with the bridesmaid’s dresses. Alex & Chad opted to not do a first look, which really made Alex’s walk down the aisle remarkable! They had a charming and heartwarming ceremony on the back lawn of the estate. Other special moments of the day include Alex giving her Father a special embroidered tie, heartfelt speeches given by family and friends, a dance floor that was never empty for the entire evening, and a sparkler exit to finish off the night!
Alex & Chad, it was an absolute honor to be a part of your wedding day, it was truly so special! Thank you for trusting me as your photographer! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!
