"Winter is our slow season here in Washington, DC, but anytime I have the opportunity to photograph couples in DC in the winter,  I jump on it! There are far less tourists than usual and the winter light is beautiful, especially when we have sun! Luckily for Cydonia and Joe, the sun was shining bright on the morning of their elopement!

I really think eloping is underrated - it's such a unique and meaningful way to tie the knot! Even if you're planning a large wedding, eloping in advance can be a really special way to celebrate and make it official before all the festivities begin. It also takes a little pressure off of the "big" day and allows you to focus on the party!

Some things that made this elopement extra-special were the way these two started their morning at the Conrad and how they ended their session at a sentimental spot where they used to live - the perfect bookends!"  - Hannah Elise
