"Angelica and Melisa planned an engagement party for September, and as they were planning, they decided that this was actually the ideal time to tie the knot! So, as a surprise, they wed at their own home (in their beautiful back yard!) the morning of the party with just a few of their closest people, and then announced the news to guests later that day!

I’ve known Angelica since 2017, when Angelica moved to the area and launched her wedding planning business. We met over margs in Arlington to chat about the DC wedding industry and we were instant friends! As a fellow wedding vendor, it was an incredible honor to be asked to photograph her wedding day!

I’ve many times said to my fellow wedding industry pros that Angelica is literally the kindest, most joyful person in the business. She is thoughtful, patient, and an amazing friend to her clients. I’ve had the delight of experiencing this first hand over the many years, and so celebrating her for a change was a treat!

The could paid careful attention to detail and it showed! The elegant, colorful details of the ceremony transformed Angelica & Melisa’s luscious, green back yard into a colorful garden of pinks and purples. The wedding attire matched the theme perfectly, and I particularly loved Melisa’s floral collar. It was the perfect pop! Cheers to these beauties and their new unity!" - Hannah
