"To call this wedding the 'crowning jewel' of my wedding portfolio would be not only an understatement, but also a poorly-attempted English pun. However, this wedding truly was a once-in-a-lifetime. It felt like stepping into a fairytale with two of the sweetest, most 'live life to the fullest' people and all of their friends & family. In short: it was a dream come true!
Bry & Tim were wed in Caldbeck, England (of the Lake District) in June. Caldbeck is Tim's hometown, while Bry hails from the U.S. of A. Theirs is a whirlwind romance story: they met and started dating in DC, just a few days before COVID hit in 2020. Tim was quickly called back to Caldbeck, and rather than sit around and ask "what if," Bry followed him shortly afterwards and spent lockdown with him and his family. They were engaged not two years later, and they chose to hold their celebration right where they spent their first several months dating - at beautiful Woodside, Tim's family's home!
It's absolutely essential that I share that this wedding was of personal significance to me as well - Bry has been a friend of mine for years, and we actually met at a wedding I was shooting in St. Louis back in 2018! I learned there that Bry loves following wedding photographers' work, and so it was an incredible honor that she should choose me out of the many that she has admired over the years!
More about the details of the wedding - I adored the blending of American and English traditions for this wedding. The ceilidh dance, in particular, was so much fun. The ceremony site was rich with history. The bright, bold colors were a perfect match for their vibrant personalities.
I'll end with this: something that bonded Bry and I early on was her's and my husband, Evan's shared love of Taylor Swift. As a now-converted Swiftie myself, I can't help but think of Taylor when I think of Bry & Tim's romance. London Boy was playing in my head on repeat all day (obviously), but also, all of Folklore seems to be the perfect-fit mood-setter - it's just so pretty to think all along there was some invisible string." - Hannah
