In 2021, we are adding to our team! We’re currently accepting applications for an associate photographer role in both Washington, DC & Naples, FL.

 

ASSOCIATE PHOTOGRAPHER

We’re seeking a hard-working, hungry-to-learn individual who is excited about working with a team and photographing weddings. Our new associate photographer will be trained in all of our methods, so camera knowledge is not required (although it is a plus!).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Photographing wedding days as both primary & second photographer (we train you!)

Managing client relationships from start to finish

Contributing to team meetings & participating in fun team events

Editing & uploading galleries

Communicating with vendor teams and making detailed plans for clients’ wedding days

Above all, doing whatever it takes to make our couples’ wedding days the best day ever!

 

More Details:

This is an hourly, part-time (10-30 hours/week) paid position with an emphasis on weekend work.

Work hours are somewhat seasonal – our busiest months in DC are May, June, September & October and in Naples  are January-April.

This is a very physically active job and requires a lot of time on your feet with few breaks.

New hires must be available for training on (some) weekdays starting in September and weekends in October & November.

 

FAQs

 

What does it mean to be an associate photographer?

On the LVER team, associate photographers are LVER-trained lead photographers who photograph wedding days as the primary photographer (although you won’t jump into that role right away!).

 

Well, I’ve never photographed a wedding before (or done any photography professionally!), so am I a good fit?

While we love having team members who already have experience, you don’t need any experience shooting weddings in the past to apply for this role! You actually don’t need any camera knowledge, period – just an eye for what looks good and a humble, hungry-t0-learn attitude. We offer extensive training that takes place over months and months. It includes lots of shadowing and learning to begin, and then you will graduate to the role of second photographer. After training with us a second photographer for a certain period of time, you will eventually graduate to be a lead photographer! This all is a process, and we never send you out to a wedding day unless we are absolutely positive that you are ready!

 

I would love to be a wedding photographer, but I already have a job! Is this a full time position/will this job support all my financial needs?

This job is a part-time (10-30 hours/week) paid position with tons of flexibility! It’s ideal for someone who is able to take on part-time weekend and weekday work. Weekend availability is essential, so if you have regular weekend commitments, this is probably not a good fit for you! The pay is dependent on experience, but because it is part time, it is not a salaried or full-time position.

 

I already am a photographer, but I’d love to work with LVER! Can I do both?

Yes & No! Wedding photography-wise, this position is an exclusive photography position for LVER, meaning that it is not a good fit for someone who owns their own wedding photography business OR someone who wants to shoot weddings independently from La Vie En Rose Photographers.

HOWEVER – we welcome our photographers to own non-wedding photography businesses on the side (family photos, headshots, etc) as long as it does not interfere with their LVER work! For an individual wanting to be a full time photographer, this is a great option and can easily be combined to create a secure full-time income.
