From the moment I met Shelby and Ron at their engagement session at the Waterfront in downtown Alexandria, I knew their wedding day was going to be special. While walking with them and taking pictures I learned how they met at a Halloween party, and how quickly Ron fell for Shelby’s witty costume choice. They had their first date in downtown Alexandria, so naturally, we had to replicate their first picture together! They were so laid back and fun to guide throughout the session. Ron brought comic relief when needed, which I learned also rang true to his reputation at their wedding day only a few months later!

Shelby and Ron got ready with their closest friends in their beautiful, spacious suites a few doors down from each other. They later told me that the hardest part of the day was being apart from each other, so the first look couldn’t come soon enough! Shelby had the best hype crew with her as she walked out in her dress, the girls cheering her on as she prepared to meet her groom and start the day! Ron had the best reaction to seeing his bride, and at last, they could stick together for the day and celebrate with their family and friends! They gathered with their parents and chosen witnesses for the signing of the Ketubah, sealing their marriage through the eyes of their Jewish faith with a kiss. It was an honor to document this for them, and the ceremony only continued to make the day special. Their reception was a true celebration! When the dance floor is never empty aside from when dinner is served, that’s a successful wedding in my book! Their family and friends loved dancing together, and the speeches made by their friends had everyone laughing, including Ron’s welcome speech! Before the night could end, Shelby and Ron were led to their chairs where the Horah would commence and have everyone filled with joy. It was so fun to capture!
