Wow, the Kennedy Center and Georgetown combination might be one of my favorites for engagement sessions! When Jody and Joey picked this spot for their engagement photos, I knew that it would be beautiful. Combined with their classic style and genuine joyfulness, this engagement session has SO many lovely photos that it was hard for me to choose just a few favorites for the blog!

First, let me tell you a little bit about Jody and Joey. At the early hour of 6:30am, they were bubbly, smiling and ready for photos! They have an infectious joy and lightheartedness which naturally comes through in these photos. They laugh easily and didn’t stop smiling for the entire session! They also are thoughtful and, in general, a delight to spend the sunrise with!

After two rescheduled sessions due to storms, we finally were able to meet for this session. Jody and I first spoke months ago and we instantly clicked on the phone. I loved her vision for her wedding day and was thrilled when she booked me! I’d been looking forward to meeting her and Joey since then!

Although we hadn’t met in person yet, we had been talking back and forth for quite some time about her October 2020 wedding date. When COVID first came onto the scene, we were pretty confident that her October 3 date was safe. As we went from spring to summer, it slowly became clear that we wouldn’t be back to 100% normal by their original date. Thankfully, the two were able to solidify the same Saturday for next October at their gorgeous wedding venue AND decided to have a smaller celebration on their original date. The HBP team is so excited to be a part of both celebrations!

It really was a treat to photograph such a lovely couple! I cannot wait until wedding days #1 and #2!
