This early spring engagement in Old Town Alexandria with the sweetest couple was photographed by Cassie Tobias on Friday, February 28, 2019 in Alexandria, VA.

During the winter, in the slower months for wedding photography, I am always excited when I get to photograph engagement sessions!  I was absolutely thrilled when Hayley & Josh chose Old Town Alexandria for their sunrise session!  In my opinion, sunrise in Old Town is a hidden gem in the Northern Virginia area and even more so on cold mornings.  Bear with me here, I know cold isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but there is just something that I can’t quite describe about the invigorating fresh air and the fact that there are few people out and about along the usually crowded areas.  On these cold, winter mornings, the areas by the water and main streets are incredibly beautiful, calm and serene. 

Hayley & Josh traveled over two hours for this session from the Eastern Shore of Maryland and I was honestly so impressed by how they managed to look so good at such an early hour, with an even earlier wake-up time!  From the start, they were so flexible and easy going which made my job such a joy.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting to chat with them (during our frequent coat breaks from the cold!!!) about how they met, what they like to do for fun, and what they are looking forward to with their wedding!

These two are no strangers to the “long distance relationship while planning a wedding” thing!  While they both currently live in different states across the country, they have successfully been managing wedding planning and everything else that comes with it!  One of the perks of their session was that they got to be in the same place for a weekend!!!

I am so happy with how their photos turned out!  I seriously cannot stop looking at them and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
