This afternoon garden party wedding at the Virginia Cliffe Inn in Richmond, VA was photographed on Saturday, May 8, 2021 by Hannah Bjorndal. Hannah is a Virginia Cliffe Inn wedding photographer available for weddings in Richmond, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and beyond. 

It is always the greatest honor to photograph a friend’s wedding (or life, in general!), and in the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several dear friends – many more than has been typical in the past! When Caroline & Daniel asked me to photograph their wedding day, I was literally bursting with joy!

In 2014, I met Caroline for the first time when she began her year as a Capital Fellow. The previous year, I had completed the program and was still very much involved with it for the next year of Fellows. She made an immediate impression of gentleness, maturity and compassion. Since then, I’ve loved getting to know her more and more! We’ve continued to run in the same circles and see one another often. A few years after meeting Caroline, I met Daniel at my alma mater, Grove City College, while recruiting for the same program, Capital Fellows. Daniel and I chatted about what the program was like, and he ended up applying and getting accepted for the following year’s class!

The two met sometime around the start of Daniel’s Fellows year, but they did not started dating until many years later! It was such a joy to hear that two people that we absolutely love and think the world of were together! When they got engaged in 2020, our entire community of friends was thrilled!

This beautiful wedding day was picture-perfect in every way. The weather was warm and pleasant, with sunny skies and puffy white clouds. The celebration was light-hearted and fun, with lawn games, delicious food and a breezy tented reception space at the Virginia Cliffe Inn. Everything about the day was the perfect mixture of laid-back, tasteful elegance and authentic love!
