What to say first about this couple?! There is so much to love about Rachel & Greg and their gorgeous Washington, D.C. engagement session! I had been looking forward to getting together with them for so long, and the day finally arrived last Friday!

I first met Rachel & Greg nearly two years ago at Healy & Stephen Akridge‘s wedding which I photographed at King Family Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA. Rachel was in the wedding party, and all the girls were SO wonderful to work with! As soon as I heard that Greg had proposed, I crossed my fingers that they’d ask me to photograph the wedding. And my wish came true! Yay!

For their session, the couple picked two amazing spots. We started at the D.C. War Memorial and then headed to Eastern Market. I love the War Memorial for engagement sessions because it’s so peaceful and tucked away from other tourist attractions. No one is ever there, especially in the mornings! However, it still has the beautiful white marble glow like other monuments around the district.

Eastern Market is another super fun spot. Completely different from the historic War Memorial, Eastern Market is a “local flavor” and shows off one of my favorite neighborhoods in D.C. It was great to take a break from the cold (it was a chilly morning!) and enjoy the market!
