I was beyond thrilled when Caitlyn & Kris chose Great Falls Park for their engagement session. One of my favorite parts of Northern Virginia is the wide variety of locations there are for photos, especially when it comes to nature! Great Falls is the perfect combination of architecture and nature with the beautiful white painted visitor center, the long winding trails and rock scrambles, and wooden bridges – perfect for couples like Caitlyn & Kris, who love being outside!

Caitlyn & Kris made the engagement session so easy with their genuine joy and love for one another! I am impressed by hearing the ways that they’ve made their long distance relationship work and how they’ve been planning their wedding even while being states away from each other! It was truly special that Kris flew in for the weekend to be with Caitlyn and take time for this session!

Something that made this session so unique was that they brought all the essentials for a perfect autumn picnic – wine and wine glasses, salami, cheese, grapes, and vintage camera as a homage to their grandparents! September in Northern Virginia very much still feels like summer but that didn’t stop them for creating the perfect fall atmosphere (Caitlyn, you’re a trooper for wearing that adorable sweater in 80 degree weather!!!). The fallen leaves were the icing on the cake! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!

Caitlyn & Kris are getting married at Great Marsh Estate next April! You may or may not know this, but Great Marsh holds a very special place in my heart because it’s where I got married last year, so I could not be more thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph this lovely couple’s day there! I can’t wait for your wedding, Caitlyn & Kris!
