After 6 months of quarantining, lockdowns, elopements, and mini-sessions, we are BACK IN THE GAME. Sarah & Jack’s beautiful French chateau-inspired wedding was the most gorgeous at-home micro wedding imaginable. These two reached out to me initially to photograph their big wedding day, but I was already booked. In May, Sarah emailed me again, and after feeling super sad about her changed wedding plans, I was thrilled to accept the role of wedding photographer!

When you hear “backyard wedding,” I can pretty much guarantee this wedding is not what comes to mind. Classic, elegant and sophisticated, this floral-filled micro-wedding was a stunner. Sarah’s parents (along with an incredible vendor team) totally transformed their beautiful home in McLean, VA for the wedding day. The beautiful back lawn, which overlooks a tranquil pool and stone patio, was the perfect setting for their nuptials. The patio also went through a transformation and became the perfect, elegant setting for dinner after cocktail hour.

Some of my very favorite parts of the wedding day included Sarah’s stunning cathedral veil with floral appliqués, the beautiful floral arch that was the centerpiece of the ceremony, the floating floral installments in the pool, and the recessional of the ceremony which ended with all four parents hand-in-hand. It was such a perfect day in every way (even the weather was a picture-perfect 75 and sun!). I absolutely love the way that Sarah and Jack rolled with the punches of COVID-19, re-planned a dream wedding and celebrated in style at Sarah’s family’s home. It was incredible!
