Words cannot express just how much I have missed being behind the camera!!! I had a session right before the pandemic hit and have been anxiously waiting to get back out photographing our amazing HBP couples! Lauren & Ian’s session was my first session since February and I was ecstatic to get to meet up with them at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.  As a location that is normally packed with crowds attending concerts and shows, the Kennedy Center was almost completely empty for this sunset session!  If you’re looking for a spot that “quintessential DC”,  the Kennedy Center does not disappoint -with its beautiful white columns and architecture, stunning views on the Potomac and of Georgetown, and the canopy of wispy trees surrounding the ground level.

Lauren & Ian traveled all the way from Georgia for their session! They were in town for the weekend visiting family and preparing for their wedding next February, so it seemed like the perfect time for engagement photos! And believe me, it was absolutely perfect!  The golden hour sunlight was absolutely stunning after a few days of rain showers, creating the most ethereal glow in their photos!

It was such a joy to get to chat with them both about how they met and their proposal story (Ian proposed at the same restaurant they had their first date at, which is incredibly sweet!!!) You can just tell that these two absolutely adore one another and cannot wait to be married.  Their outfits were perfectly coordinated and classy – they looked absolutely wonderful! Lauren had her wedding hair and make-up trial prior to session, which is something I HIGHLY recommend to brides!
