This intimate, mountain-view morning wedding at Stone Tower Winery was photographed by Sarah Mills on Sunday, August 15th in Leesburg, VA. Sarah is a Washington, DC wedding photographer available for weddings at beautiful venues like Stone Tower Winery, and beyond.
I had the pleasure of first meeting Y and Tung for a consultation at a nice little pub just a month ago, as we discussed wedding details and dreamed together of their day that was quickly approaching. I got to learn so much of their story, which is always one of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer. They met online, during the pandemic if I might add, and both to their surprise immediately connected as they bonded over so many similarities in their family’s culture and upbringing. One being that their parents are both immigrants from the same region of Vietnam! The world seems so much smaller when I hear stories like that. We laughed as we discussed how quickly Y was straight forward in her questions of getting to know Tung, which I related to having done the same thing to my husband. I asked Tung to give me the story of their proposal, and it did not disappoint! They love to hike, so he decided to do it at the top of one of their hikes in front of a gorgeous view. Tung admitted he decided to change that plan in the moment when there were too many people around, knowing that both of them are not ones for being in the spotlight. Walking over to a more secluded spot, Tung asked Y to be his wife and the rest is history!
Their wedding day couldn’t have gone better. To be honest, it’s every wedding photographer’s dream to have the wedding day timeline we had that morning, accompanied with the best weather for portraits! We started the day with a first look, and had the next hour for portraits of Y and Tung together. To have someone drive you with the bride and groom on a golf cart for a whole hour at the beginning of the day to photograph them all over the grounds of a gorgeous venue.. I felt as if I hit the jackpot! The beautiful vineyard and mountain views are plentiful at Stone Tower, and because it was early morning with an overcast sky, it couldn’t have been more perfect! We finished up, and the ceremony on the hilltop began including their immediate families there to celebrate them as they became husband and wife. Their nieces and nephews stole the show, and Y’s brother did not hold back on the jokes as he officiated his sister’s wedding day. The reception began with a champagne toast, and ended with a wardrobe change into a beautiful red lace Vietnamese dress to stay true to tradition! I just loved being part of Y and Tung’s special day, and wish them the very best in their new journey together.

WOW!
Tung and Y congratulations on your union. I have been excited for your special day every since you told me you were getting married.
Your photographer captured precious moments for you both of which you can look at for years to come. Everything was beautiful, from the awesome person you are, the stunning gowns you chose, to the beautiful bouquet, the vineyard setting, the perfect table decor and moreover the love that I could see you each have for one another.
Last but not least, Tung chose the perfect rings for a beautiful person.
May God continue to bless you both on your journey as husband and wife.
Best Wishes,
Lisa E. Moon
