It is always such an honor when a friend hires me to photograph their wedding! When Minna got engaged earlier this year, I was delighted! And I was even more delighted when she said she wanted to work with me! It has been so fun to celebrate this dear friend and her fiancé – I am already counting down the days until their wedding in March!

It was obvious that Minna and JR were a perfect fit when I first saw them together, but what really sealed the deal for me was when I found out JR loved to dance. I’ve known Minna since 2013 – we met when going through the same post-grad fellowship program. What I know about Minna is that she cares deeply – about the people in her life, about her work, about our world. She’s an amazing friend! I also know that Minna loves to dance at weddings – which I adore because I do too! She was at my wedding in 2015, and Evan and I smile when we looked back at pictures to she that she was on the dance floor all night! So when JR started telling us about his really fun plans for the dance floor at their wedding, I was officially won over.

These two chose to spend most of their engagement session in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore – a spot I had never been to before but absolutely ADORE now! It’s quaint, European vibes and stunning classic architecture really inspired me! I had so much fun exploring this new spot and finding all the best angles and locations. You know I’m going to be back here soon!
