In our opinion, the best engagement session locations in Maryland are also places that many couples would never think of! Yes, there are some classic MD engagement session photo spots that we love, but if you’re looking for unique engagement photos in Maryland (especially near DC), you’re in the right place! Brookside Gardens

For our nature lovers, Brookside Garden is a dream! Brookside Gardens is one of the best MD engagement session locations, in our opinion, so we’re putting it at the very top of this post! These beautiful gardens are gorgeous in the spring, summer and fall. You do need to get permission to photograph here, and the permit is $50. However, during certain sunrise hours, you may not need a permit!

Downtown Frederick

If you’re located a little bit further out of the DC area, downtown Frederick is a great spot for engagement photos! Frederick holds an extra-special place in our heart because Hannah and Evan were engaged here in 2014 (along Carroll Creek!) AND Sarah lives here! Particularly if you are working with Sarah, this is an amazing spot for your MD engagement session .

Great Falls Billy Goat Trail

This is a classic MD engagement session location! The Billy Goat Trail is one of the best spots in MD for an engagement session. Here’s why: it’s got an amazing mix of nature, stunning views and historic architecture! You *technically* need a permit to shoot here, but ask us specifically about location and details for this spot and it may not be necessary!

Eastern Shore

So it’s a little bit far, but the Eastern Shore is an absolutely gorgeous location for an engagement session! At sunrise, we’ll even have the beach to ourselves! We recommend Chesapeake Beach for the beautiful beach and quaint little downtown area (we’ll be sure to get coffee together afterwards!).
