Oh, September! It could be blisteringly hot, it could be rainy and cold, it could be hurricane-force winds, or it could be absolutely perfect fall weather. Lucky for Ashley and John, they got that perfect fall weather for their Blue Hill Farm wedding! Cheers to that!

This was our first time at Blue Hill Farm, it is was also my first time meeting Ashley and John in person! I’d be anticipating this day for so long. Ashley and I connected through a mutual photographer friend, Kara. Since Ashley and John live in Texas, we didn’t get a chance to meet or have an engagement session before their wedding day. However, I felt so connected to Ashley and John from the start. Our mutual friends, our D.C. experience, and John’s roots in Pittsburgh made me feel like I fit right with their friends and family!

So let’s just pause to appreciate the fact that I love working with brides and grooms that are from Pittsburgh, especially when the wedding itself is not in Pittsburgh. Something is special about Pittsburgh roots. I felt so at home with John’s family and could not help myself from cheering along with guests for the Steelers & Pens. John and Ashley even had Terrible Towels specially made for guests as wedding favors. So fun!

Some of my other favorite parts of the day included Ashley’s stunning gown from Made with Love, the gorgeous outdoor setting for both dinner and dancing, the mix-and-match bridesmaids dresses (that Ashley let her girls have full control over and they looked AMAZING together!) and the toasts from Ashley’s sister, John’s best men, and Ashley’s dad (I loved seeing both of them laugh so hard!). This wedding was such a treat in every way and I’m so excited to share my favorite shots with you!
