Old Town Alexandria is one of my go-to spots for engagement photos, yet I seem to find a beautiful new spot each time I go there for an engagement session! This happened, once again, when I photographed Soo & John in Old Town Alexandria earlier this week! We had PERFECT weather, with all the golden hour sunrise goodness. I fell in love with the way the light was speckled through Founder’s Park and we took advantage of it!

Often, I get asked where I find all my couples (or, more accurately, where my couples find me!). Because, let’s be honest: I work with the BEST couples! The answer to that question is, well, a lot of places. But one of the best places I connect with engaged couples is INSTAGRAM! Instagram is designed perfectly for photographers. It allows you to easily showcase your work through your feed & stories. Hashtags, location tags and tags in photos make it even easier for couples to search for and find the exact style they are looking for. When couples find me on Instagram, it usually means we are a great fit because they’ve already fallen in love with my photography style! And I was SO thrilled when Soo & John officially decided to book me!

This engagement session was SO much fun! Maybe I’m biased (I am), but photographing these two made my heart sing! John brought mood music to play during the session and was SO good at making Soo laugh. Soo is a natural beauty and made my job so easy! Seriously, aren’t they a gorgeous couple? Pretty sure we went over the time I normally spend shooting, but I couldn’t help it! There was too much gorgeousness!

Soo & John are getting married this fall at Westfields Marriott. Their wedding is the day before Thanksgiving (you guys, HIGHLY recommend this date! Such a great idea!) and I am so thrilled to be their wedding photographer, too! As they were telling me about their plans for their wedding, I got more and more excited! Can’t wait for November!
