What a joy it was to photograph Brian & Lindsay yesterday morning at the Jefferson Memorial for their engagement session! Bright, beautiful, warm sunshine greeted us right at sunrise, and the monument was almost entirely empty. We could not have asked for a more perfect morning for a monument engagement session!

Lindsay & Brian made their decision to hire me just two days before their session, and it was such a treat to be able to meet them right away! They chose one of my very favorite spots for engagement sessions in D.C. (as many of you know!), the Thomas Jefferson Memorial! I love this monument not only for the glowing marble & beautiful view of the Tidal Basin, but also the peaceful strength I feel every time I am here at sunrise. Unlike many of the other tourist locations in D.C., the Jefferson isn’t right next to other attractions. It sits off to the side, which means that it’s often (to my advantage!) less crowded, ESPECIALLY in the mornings. And while tour buses do roll up right at 8am (or even 7am in the summer), we always have a few moments being totally or nearly alone!

So, let’s talk about Lindsay and Brian! Even from our short phone conversations, I had a great feeling about Lindsay and Brian from the start. And I was so right! This sweet couple could not have been more kind or gracious to me, and they are SO much fun. They met me at the glorious hour of 6:00am (you two are AMAZING for getting up that early!) and had smiles on their faces from the start. They laughed effortlessly when they looked at each other, and their love for one another easily shows through in all these beautiful photos!

I am so thrilled to share this gorgeous session with all of you!
