Words cannot describe how excited I was to photograph these beautiful humans this past weekend! Cassie has an extra-special place in my heart; not only because she was my intern in the spring, but also because she will be the FIRST official long-term team member (other than Ev!) than Hannah Bjorndal Photography welcomes! Yes, you heard it here first, folks! We have not made the official announcement to social media or on the website yet, but if you are sweet and loyal enough fan of HBP to read the words in the blog, then you are the first to know!

Michael proposed to Cassie in March. The surprised started off with Michael giving Cassie a sweet gift of a locket with their photo inside. At that point, Cassie still had no idea that a proposal was on the way! It wasn’t until she saw the beautiful flowers and lights at a secluded water-side gazebo that she started to realize what was happening. Michael got down on one knee, and Cassie said yes! Behind the scenes,  Michael’s sister-in-law (and my dear friend!), Taylor Rose, captured the whole thing on camera beautifully!

This proposal was so exciting and more personal to me than most because #1. Cassie became my friend while she interned with me, and who doesn’t love to see a friend get engaged?! #2. I knew it was happening before she did!

During her internship with HBP, I had heard Cassie talking about the possibility of getting engaged soon. A month or so later, Taylor let me in on the secret proposal when she thought she might not be able to photograph it. I was with Cassie on the morning of the proposal while she shadowed me at an engagement session (heyy Rachel & Greg!), and it was SO exciting to get the text from her later on with a photo of the ring!

It’s an incredible honor that these two have chosen me as their wedding photographer, and I could not be more excited. We had SO much fun at their engagement session at the Jefferson Memorial and in Old Town Alexandria. Their love is so genuine and they have the best style, what more could I ask for?
