There isn’t a better way to start off Cinco de May than with a beautiful springtime Georgetown engagement session! I met Alexandra & Jay bright and early at their lovely Georgetown apartment, right across from Dumbarton Oaks. Although there was rain in the forecast, it held off and we even got some gorgeous sun at the end!

I knew I liked these two pretty much instantly. They made each other smile and laugh effortlessly! Their easy-going attitude and comfort with one another made the session so much fun and super relaxing. Jay is a PRO at making Alexandra laugh. Love it. Jay also made me laugh, so win-win.

Having your engagement session nearby your home is a great option for making the session personal and special to the two of you. I loved that we spent the session wandering around Alexandra & Jay’s neighborhood (which is super beautiful!). At the end, we were back at their lovely home and were able to spend time chatting about the wedding day details with Alex’s sweet mom! It was a perfect morning.

There are so many pretty places here in Georgetown that it’s almost too hard to choose! A sunrise session was the way to go – we avoided crowds and cars and basically had the park and streets to ourselves. The overcast sky quickly turned to sun, which gave us such a nice variety of photos. Basically, I’m all about Georgetown for engagement sessions!
