Last Thursday, I was at one of my FAVORITE parks in DC, Meridian Hill Park, to photograph Jess & Maggie’s engagement session! I have been so excited to meet these two. They woke up super early to catch the best light (thanks, guys!!!!) and it really was the perfect morning!

First off, let’s just give Maggie and Jess a round of applause for their style. I absolutely love the colors and outfits they chose! Cool colors, especially in a spot like Meridian Hill, are my favorite. Cool blues and purples against the green trees and warm light made me way too excited!

So let’s face it: waking up super early to catch the sunrise for engagement photos is tough. Having you photos that early in the morning can be intimidating and exhausting (even though that early morning light is SO worth it!). Maggie and Jess were champions and looked ridiculously good, especially for 7am! Once again, I’m amazed how lucky I am to have such amazing couples!

Ok, so let’s talk about this DC park. Have you been to Meridian Hill? I love this place because there is so much variety. They’ve got a gorgeous cascading fountain, beautiful architecture, and tons of really pretty trees. There is an upper level that feels like more of a traditional park, and the lower level (mostly where we stayed!) with pretty stone, water features, and lots of steps. Even with the fountain was drained, Meridian Hill has so much to offer for an engagement session! I’m a huge fan.
