If I’m going to encourage you to celebrate more in your everyday life, I better tell you exactly how to make it happen, right?! All of these examples come from my own life – things I’ve incorporated into my friendships, family and marriage – to make life sweeter and celebrate more.
Celebrating is extra sweet when it happens annually, don’t you think? Choose dates that are special to your personally and make a tradition of celebrating that date in a special way. Anniversaries, birthdays & a few major holidays each year aren’t the only reason to plan something special!
One of the sweetest ways, in our opinion, to make celebrating truly meaningful is to spend quality time with people you love. Great conversations, in these moments, are often remembered for years. You probably are thinking of one of these moments right now! But if you’re like me, you sometimes aren’t sure how to get the convo started. Try bringing conversation cards – like Table Topics or The { } And (which we gift all of our couples with, btw!). #sponsoredfavs
One of my favorite things to celebrate in everyday life is achieving goals. I’m not just talking about the really big ones, either. Setting 90-day goals is a great way to constantly be growing, and it gives you a great reason to celebrate your everyday accomplishments and hard work! Be sure to choose what the celebration will be in advance so that you can use it as motivation and encouragement to follow through!
Have you ever been inspired to do something really fun and unique in your own city, only to forget the idea a few weeks later when you finally have time to do it (or is that just me 😂)? It’s time to make it a “thing” – create a note on your phone and start compiling all those little ideas you come across (and if you don’t have any ideas, don’t worry. You’re about to get plenty from us!!!). Share the list with your S.O. or best friend so that you can start adding to it together!
Don’t pretend you didn’t celebrate your half-birthday at least once as a kid! Half birthdays not only give you an additional day of the year to celebrate, they also allow you to celebrate your birthday in an entirely different season. This is also a great opportunity to surprise your partner with a celebration – they’ll never see it coming!
You already know how quickly the calendar fills up!! Put planned time on the calendar, just for celebrating. If it’s an annual or reoccurring celebration, you can set it to repeat in your cal so you can always prioritize it in advance!
Might sound obvious, but consider the things in everyday life – big and small – that you enjoy the most! Is it a certain type of food or drink? It is a specific setting? Or is it time with a person you don’t see often? Consider what your “favorites” are. Do some deep digging and try to avoid the obvious answer at first. You might be surprised what you find that you enjoy most!
Trying one of these ideas? Share how it goes with me by commenting or emailing us at info@LVERphoto.com! We’d love to hear from you!
