This year has been even more full, exciting and busy than the last. Over the last 12 months, I’ve mentored more than 10 new & growing photographers and small business owners. It’s a joy and a privilege to join other photographers & creative entrepreneurs on their journey to building a successful photography business, and I’m thrilled to announced that I’m starting an internship program in Spring, Summer & Fall of 2018!

This internship will focus photography, social media, marketing & the wedding industry. Applicants interested in learning from any or all of these areas are welcome to apply!

What HBP is looking for:

Commitment to work 10-20 hours per week with a somewhat flexible schedule

Excellent knowledge & abilities with social media, particularly Instagram & Pinterest

Excellent & professional writing skills

A self-starter who is eager to contribute to the team in any way

An excellent eye for style & design

Interest in photography and/or the wedding industry

Interest and willingness to assist at weddings on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

General knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom & WordPress is a big plus

Lover of tacos & margaritas is an even bigger plus

 

Some of your main responsibilities:

Managing & updating social media platforms for HBP

Assisting Hannah at sessions & weddings

Research and grow relationships with other industry vendors

Maintain & update the blog & website

Assisting with day-to-day client relationship management

Thinking of new and interesting ways to help HBP grow & thrive

 

What you can expect to learn:

The basic technical aspects of a camera and shooting

The basics of working with & photographing a couple

How to market your business successfully through social media

The rhythm of a wedding day & working with vendors

How to create an excellent experience for clients

The necessary day-to-day tasks of a business owner

 

This position is unpaid, but we’re more than happy to work with your school to help you get college credit if this is something you’re looking for! The internship is a best fit for those living in and around the Washington, DC area, but remote interns may be considered depending on your situation.
